Products

Here are my go-to baking products! You'll find I like multifunctional, (hopefully) durable tools. It's a bonus for me if they come in fun colors. I'm not a big fan of kitchenware that can only can be used for one purpose; I have a small SF kitchen with limited cabinet space!

I'll only post items that I use consistently in my day-to-day baking; all of the products I link below I've had for many, many years now and still use when I bake. This list is a work-in-progress and will continue to change as I find new products I like and take out products I feel like I no longer use. Of note, if you do purchase any items through one of the Amazon links below, I'll receive a small commission which will go towards restocking baking supplies for my future projects :).

Favorite Bakeware
I like plastic over metal for my measuring spoon and cups, but that's a personal preference. I've had these for a long time and still really like them. They're of course cheaper if you buy them at IKEA vs off Amazon.

-Liquid Measuring Cup: Pyrex 1-Cup Glass Measuring Cup
This is my favorite for measuring wet ingredients. I like the 1 cup size because it is compact enough to store in my small SF kitchen cabinets but still gets the job done.

I'm a fan of Tovolo products. I like the feel of the metal handles and the heat-safe silicone heads that come in a variety of fun colors.

I like hand crank flour sifters  This one is lightweight and easy to use.

-Round Cookie Cutters: Fox Round Cookie Cutter Set
I personally like plastic cookie cutters because they feel more durable to me and they don't rust compared to metal cutters. This set has multiple sizes of round cutters which nest together compactly and the other side has scalloped cutters. It comes in metal as well if that's your preference!

Ok, so I've tried a variety of digital thermometers with the probe on the long wire and the battery powered thermometer with an alarm and all of them have broken for one reason or another! I finally bought this clip-on thermometer and it's still working 4 years later.

I have this mixer in Watermelon Sorbet. I haven't had any issues with it. I basically use it to whip whipped cream and meringues.

These are very handy. Two of them fit onto one baking rack in most standard American ovens. One of them can fit in larger countertop ovens.

Great for making muffins or cupcakes. I have 2 trays since most recipes make 24 cupcakes or muffins and it helps to bake them all at once rather in 2 rounds.

Self-explanatory, if you ever want to make mini muffins, you'll need a mini muffin tin. If choosing between a regular muffin tin and a mini muffin tin, I would go with the regular. This is a bonus item if you have the space for it.

Super necessary. I usually have at least 4 of these on hand so I can cool cake layers, cookies on various counter surfaces in my kitchen.

Useful in smoothing out cake frosting.

Favorite Cookware
I am a big fan of this knife set. All the basic knives you could need in a rainbow of colors. There is a bread knife in here too. Very durable, I'm still using them all years later. I don't use the clear knife block though since it takes up too much space, instead I have a magnetic knife block (I'll link below).

Handy for holding your kitchen knives and any other metal utensils. It is heavy so be careful not to drop in onto your foot (speaking from personal experience :O).

I love kitchen shears. I use them for everything, from snipping herbs to slicing up my pizza to cutting out fun shapes from Airhead candy for cookie decorating.

-Microplane Grater: Microplane Classic Zester
I love this thing! I used it to zest and grate all my citrus, garlic, ginger, and hard cheeses. It's sharp so be careful when you use it.

Useful when grabbing things out of a hot pot of boiling water.

-Digital Food Scale: Ozeri Digital Kitchen Scale
Sometimes I bake based on weight when I'm following recipes from Europe or Asia, having a kitchen scale in general is quite handy (I use it to calculate the weights of small packages that I need to mail out as well).

I was looking for a compact more aesthetically pleasing compost bin that would keep smells in and fruit flies out of my compost. This compost bin is really cute and the bucket inside is removable so you can take it out to your large compost bin when ready to dump.

Baking Decorations
-Candy Coloring: Wilton Candy Colors
Super necessary for cute animal dessert eyes! Buying them in just black definitely beats picking out all the black ones from those Halloween black and orange mixes (which is what I used to do X_x).

Packaging Desserts
-Reusable Ice Cream Tub: Tovolo Ice Cream Tub, 1 Quart
Useful to keep homemade ice cream.
